Just wanted to say "Happy New Year" to all of my family! I hope God blesses you very much this next year so that you can bless others too.
Robert was going to go to the lock in at his church with Matthew, but now he's sick and staying home. Looks like Matthew will go without him. Barbara is having some friends from school over, so we'll be having a house of teens for the new year. :) I plan to spend the evening (after we pick up all her friends) having fun with the young people, reading, starting my lesson plans for the next couple weeks, and ordering senior pictures for Robert! YIKES!!!!!
So, have a fun New Year's Eve and Day.
Love,
Rebekah :)

From Maria
Maria emailed me and I'm trying to help her figure out a "techie" issue, which is not to say I'm that smart, but I'm working on it.
Until then, I added the link to her blog on the side here------>. Go see what Maria has to say.
Love,
Rebekah :)

your blog idea
How slow are you? The sole purpose of moving to North Carolina was to move away from them, and now you want to start a blog with them. Are you insane? Tsk tsk tsk.
Prayer Request
I have a student and her family (sister, also one of my "old" kinderkids, their mom and grandfather) who went back home to Pakistan for a family wedding. I'm very concerned about their safety with all that is going on over there right now. I called the father to see if he has spoken to them and if they're all right, but I've heard nothing back. Our school has a large population of Pakistani families, actually. Tonight, we spoke to one of Barbara's old bosses who also has family there and in harm's way.
Would you guys please pray that my little girls (I know they're not really mine) and their family & Haji's are all safe?
Thanks!
Love,
Rebekah :)

Our Family
We're a "different" family, that's for sure. We are a blended family brought together by Paul & Barbara Lane. Some of us call him Dad, Pop, Paul, Grandpa, Papa. Some of us call her Mom, Momma, Barbara, Grandma. But we are all related to one of them, at least, and that makes us family.
Due to the nature of most "blended families"as well as the times we met and were "blended" (that's my word for today,by the way- ha! ha!), I know some of us are closer to one more than another, but I think we all like each other anyway. Well, I hope so. Okay, so Jessica, I know you don't really like me, but for at least the sake of this, let's pretend, okay? :) Certainly there's a lot of distance between most of us, but I thought this might be a way for us to communicate with each other, share the exciting, not-so-exciting, and downright boring events of our lives with each other as well as photos, prayer needs, and comments along the way.
If you've never blogged, it's really not too hard, and hopefully you'll like it. You can comment on what other people blog too, so it's a nice way to leave comments/feedback/etc. for each other too.
So, without further ado, let the family blog begin!
Love,
Rebekah :)
P.S. I don't know exactly how this "group" blog thing works. If there are links or other features you want to add to this, well it's all of ours, go ahead. If it won't let you, then send me the info, and I'll do it. Not sure if all authors can do that or not??? We'll find out.
