Spring is Here!

Well, at least in NC it is. I kept my promise to Momma that I would try to find an hour or two to have some fun this week in the midst of the work I was trying to get done. This afternoon, Robert, Barbara & I went for a drive to find a park or someplace to take a walk and take some photos of spring. We stopped at the Bog Gardens in G'boro. It was a gorgeous day for it too- highs in 70's and partly sunny! Just perfect!
I just figured out how to add this photo slide show too! I'm EXCITED!!!Hope spring is coming your way too.

From the desk of Bridgette Lane:

so, as spring break was near approaching, my debit card was stolen at one of the malls here in lincoln. fortunate enough, my instincts told me to check for it, detecting that it was missing before any charges could be made.

so, on my recent adventure...formally called spring break, i did pretty much a whole lot of nothing! i did, although, get a new phone, a new hairstyle and a new pair of glasses...that is just about ALL the excitement I can take for one sitting. spring break for me, was a good time to catch up with friends, it was the first time i have been home since christmas break.

my latest news...
I'm changing my major from Advertising to...something that hasn't been decided yet :D but i will let you know when i figure it out. i will be going home in the next month to crown the new prom queen...FUN! i also, hopefully soon, will be purchasing a vehicle. but other than all of that, not much going on, just preparing my class schedule for next fall and hoping to figure out what my plans are for this summer! Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Easter :)

I'm in a play! Yeah for me!

I am in my schools drama club and this semester we are doing a play called Fast Train To The Poorhouse. Right now the women parts have not been asigned because many of the girls are inconsistent in coming to meetings. I am looking at maybe being the part of Miss Priscilla Brokemeyer or a school girl/salon girl. Also I will be helping with the backstage stuff. We will be video taping our production so if you want to see our production I will gladly send you a copy. Anyway I will let you know more information when I get it, if you want it or not. :)

Thanks for Prayers Everyone

It was a sad weekend for us with Ralph's funeral. Yet it is so great how we do not sorry as those who have no hope when we know our loved one knew Jesus Christ as his Savior. Ralph called his kids to say goodbye because they live out of state and he knew they might not make it home before the pain medication made him unable to communicate. His pastor told us at the funeral that Ralph's last message to Julie and Brian was:

Love one another, forgive one another, take care of your family, take care of your Mom and always live for the Lord. That is all that matters.

What a legacy to have from your father!!!

At the funeral the pastor explained that if one hoped to see Ralph again they needed to ask Jesus to be their Savior. He prayed the sinner's prayer and we ended the service singing, "When We All Get to Heaven." Many clapped their hands. I know Ralph would have been pleased!

I have a friend at work whose brother-in-law also died this past week from cancer and his funeral was Saturday also. She shared with me today how her sister could not even stand and greet those who came to visit and how she fell apart at the grave. What a difference the hope of Jesus made for Minnie.

Still, it will be rough for her after 41+ years of marriage. The last 8 years Ralph was retired and they were together 24/7. Please remember Minnie in your prayers.

Thanks for praying for all of us this past week.

I Gave Blood Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today at my school we had a blood drive. And the last semester when we had one I wasn't old enough. Anyway I had to get my iron tested and my finger was pricked. Last time my finger was pricked it hurt alot more. And then I had to fill out this little questionare and read and sign this little paper. Also they took my blood preasure, pulse, and temperature. Then they gave me this paper and I had to wait in line for my number to come up. Then when it ws my turn I had to sit in the chair. They took forever to find a big enough vein and they had to check both arms. They found a tiny little vein in my right arm, but it wasn't big enough. They found two in my left arm and then they used one of them. My friend told me that I shouldn't look at the needle, but curiosity got the better of me. Oh my goodness!!!!! That needle was ginormous! And they put iodine on your arm because everybody has bacteria that grows on your skin and the iodine kills the bacteria. The needle doesn't hurt once it gets in but the iodine stings. It usually takes 10 minutes to fill the little bag with blood but it took me 6 minutes and 56 seconds. I was in the auditorium from like 11 until 1:15. When I got back to class a bunch of my friends asked me if I was 17 and I was like duh you have to be to give blood. My arm was really tired cause I had to clench my hand a bunch of times so the nurse could feel my vein. She said that you can feel the vein cause it bounces. They had a little tool connected to the tube to fill 4 test tubes up for testing. They have to find what my blood type is and they test for other illness. I will get a blood donor card in the mail. I also got a lunch box and a t-shirt. In the little bag the blood goes in the have a liquid called an anti-coagulant so the blood will not stick together. Then I got to eat some food that the school buys for the students and teachers. My friend Dunamis when he finished was dizzy and kind of wobbally and the nurse told him to sit down and eat some food. I felt a little dizzy when I was in the chair so this boy in the SGA which is the student government association brought me a little can of sprite. The SGA helps with the blood drive. When they found the vein they were going to use the said that it curved, like it was at an angle which apparently common in left handed people. The nurse drew a line on my arm so she would know were the vein is. Once she got the needle in she said that she couldn't find it and I thought she was going to have to take it out again and stick it in again. She just moved it around and got in the vein. My friend Rachel who donated blood before said not to think about it and it would help me not be so nervous so I pulled out my Ipod and was listening to music. The nurse told me not to lift anything heavy and to use my left arm as little arm as possible. I was thinking have you seen my bookbag. Since I am left handed I usually use my left hand and arm more. so its kind of hard to use my right hand. And my bookbag is really really big so it was kind of hard to lift my bookbag up. Anyway I got out of my third block class and half of my fourth block class. Anyway about the rest of my day was boring. We had a early out so we didn't not do much in class. I missed my lunch period so I ate some food at the blood drive and ate when I got home. I think everyone should donate blood, cause that means your helping others which God told us to do.

Hi All

Hi all, this comes to you from Texas,
All is good here now, we had quite a scare this week, Stacie ((the baby) got dehydrated and had to be hospitalized for a day, she got that stomach virus, God had his hand on her and she is well now and at home....keep me in your prayers because things here have gone from bad to worse and I am starting to save money and get my ducks in a row, I am moving in June as soon as Janie graduates...if not sooner, things havent changed and arent going to they will stay the same and I am not going to live like this anymore, life is too short to be unhappy, and in constant turmoil.
I feel so much releif in making this choice, right now its just me and Justin moving and anyone else (besides their dad) can go if they want to
but thats the way it is right now so just be praying things will be ok. He doesnt know and wont til it happens or I will be living in more turmoil than I am now.

Love to all
P.S. CONGRATS SIS YOU DESERVE IT YOU ARE AN AWESOME TEACHER I WISH THERE WERE MORE LIKE YOU
